Great Vic Bike Ride: along the Great Ocean Road

Our first multi-day organised group ride in Victoria run by Vic Bicycle Network. It was a 10 day (8 days of riding) ride from Robe in SA to Torquay in Victoria. Some great riding starting with long flat rides in South Australia and challenging climbs with exhilarating descents in the Otways. The weather was the only drawback. It was cold and windy.Riding in this weather wasn't too bad (except for the last day where it rained the whole way into the finish line, then rained while we packed our bikes, bags etc into the car). Being cold and windy meant that there was not a lot to do but hit the feathers early each night rather than freeze to death under the big tent. Would I do it again? No, not even with good weather. Would definitely do multi-day rides again but with our own elite group rather than with 4,000 other riders.

Rest day at Port Fairy. Had two nights staying at the Pub in town. Nice warm soft bed, no camp food, washed our clothes etc, luxury. Met up with some extra friends who were doing the last 5 days.

Day 8 or the 6th day of riding bought us out onto what everyone recognises the Great Ocean Road scenic route to be. Lots of pics on this day. A good day weather-wise to.

Welcome to the world Myles Vaughan, born 17th September 2019 at 2:55pm. Weighing in at 3.4kg and 51cm tall. Another baby who had enough being cooped up inside mummy deciding to come 10 days earlier.
